Receiving your WPI8 Windstorm Certificate

  • During your job we will hire, and coordinate inspections with Windstorm Specialties to get your project windstorm certified.
  • After the job has been certified, our engineer will provide us with a copy of the WPI2, which is the signed, sealed copy of your certificate that gets turned into the state.
  • The state, in turn, releases your WPI8, which is available for anyone to print or view at
  1. From the Texas Department of Insurance homepage, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page.
  2. Click the link that says windstorm search and reprint.
  3. Enter the numerical portion of your address, and then the first three letters of your street name.
  4. This should bring up a list of names matching that criteria, and from there you should be able to find your name with any associated WPI8s.
  • This entire process could take up to four weeks to complete, sometimes longer when dealing with a storm area.
  • Due to the inability to get this certificate upon the completion of your system, holding out full payment for this form is not acceptable.  Our projects are due upon completion of the work, not the completion of the windstorm certificate.
  • We pay Windstorm Specialties upon receipt of the WPI2.
  • If for any reason you need to reach our inspectors, you can call Windstorm Specialties at 361-727-9463.
